  1. GENERAL PROVISIONS

1.1. This Cookie Policy (hereinafter referred to as the “Policy”) informs Platform Users about the list of cookies used, the purposes of their use and storage on Users’ devices, as well as how to disable and/or delete them (User cookie management).

1.2. Definitions of terms used in this Policy:

(1) “Administrator” – Limited Liability Company “MARINE MAN Estonia” (MARINE MAN ESTONIA OÜ) (registration code: 14251651), registered address: 11414, Harju County, Tallinn, Lasnamae District, Pae tn 25-47, and persons authorized by it to administer and manage the Platform.

(2) “User” – any natural person (who has reached the age of 18) or legal entity with full legal capacity who uses the Platform via the Internet to search for necessary information and to meet their needs in the field of maritime employment and crewing.

(3) “Cookies” – small text files stored on the User’s device (phone, laptop, tablet, computer, or other technical devices of the User) when the User visits the Platform.

(4) “Platform” refers to the combination of software and hardware in the form of an online service, located on the Internet at: https://jobmarineman.com/.

1.3. The information set forth in this Policy is an integral part of the Privacy Policy, which is available on the Platform at: https://jobmarineman.com/privacy-policy/.

1.4. If the User does not agree with the terms of this Policy, they must leave the Platform and cease using it.

  1. LIST OF COOKIES USED

2.1. When the User uses the Platform, the following categories of cookies are used:

(1) Essential cookies – files that are necessary to ensure the functionality of the Platform and are stored on the User’s device for a certain period of time after the Platform session ends.

(2) Functional cookies – files that help store information that modifies the User’s interaction with the Platform or the Platform’s interface and remembers the User’s preferences for future visits.

(3) Third-party cookies – third-party files used to collect non-personalized information about Users’ visits to the Platform, analyze its performance, and so on.

2.3. The Platform also uses third-party cookies, such as:

(1) Google Analytics, which collects data about the User’s IP address, operating system, browser type, and URL. Google Analytics helps analyze the number of visits, their duration, and the most common interactions with the Platform to assess the Platform’s usability.

The Administrator may also use other publicly available third-party analytics cookies that collect only statistical data.

(2) Third-party plugins (Telegram, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok, X, Facebook, Viber) in the form of buttons for clicking or automatic redirection from the Platform to the User’s account(s) on the third-party website.

These third-party cookies are used on the Platform in accordance with the privacy policies and cookie usage policies of the third parties, which the User can review directly on the website(s) of the aforementioned third parties (Telegram, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok, X, Facebook, Viber).

(3) The Platform uses third-party services for payment processing (Merchant of Record) and artificial intelligence analytics tools; these services may set their own cookies to authenticate sessions, ensure transaction security, and analyze interactions with the AI interface. The Administrator does not have access to the data collected by these files directly by the payment systems.

2.4. Cookies may be stored on Users’ devices for a period ranging from a few hours to several days, weeks, or years, depending on the type of cookies used.

  1. PURPOSES OF COOKIE USE

3.1. The Platform uses cookies, in particular, for the following purposes:

(1) to ensure the functionality of the Platform, including navigation, User access to their personal account on the Platform, posting ads, and other functionalities of the Platform;

(2) to customize content (information) on the Platform according to Users’ preferences, making their interaction with the Platform more convenient;

(3) to save User settings while using the Platform (language, region, filtering of ads on the Platform, etc.) to ensure a convenient experience during repeat visits to the Platform;

(4) to collect information about Users’ visits to the Platform and other analytical data to improve its performance.

3.2. By using cookies, the Administrator may collect data that constitutes personal information about Users, which is processed in accordance with the procedures and terms set forth in the Privacy Policy, available on the Platform at: https://jobmarineman.com/privacy-policy/.

  1. USER CONTROL OF COOKIES

4.1. Upon their first visit to the Platform, Users are presented with a Cookie Banner that allows them to:

(1) accept all cookies;

(2) reject all cookies except for essential ones;

(3) customize permissions for individual categories (functional, analytical, marketing).

4.1.1. Essential cookies are used automatically without separate consent, as the Platform cannot function without them; opting out of other categories does not restrict access to the Platform’s core features.

4.2. The User’s consent to the use of cookies allows the Platform to store information about the User’s interaction session with the Platform, analyze Platform usage (e.g., selection of settings), authorization data, etc. If the User refuses to use cookies, some of the Platform’s features may be unavailable or may not function properly (or fully).

4.3. From time to time, the Platform may update the User’s consent to the use of cookies by displaying the relevant form on the Platform again. This update may occur in the following cases:

(1) after the User has disabled the use of cookies or deleted them from their device;

(2) a certain period of time has elapsed since the User’s last login to the Platform;

(3) a certain period of time has elapsed since the User’s last visit to the Platform.

4.4. At the User’s discretion, the User may disable the use of cookies on the Platform by unchecking the box consenting to the use of cookies.

4.5. The User may also delete cookies by changing the settings of the browser they use (such changes may also result in the deletion of cookies used by other websites on the Internet).

The user has the right to withdraw their consent to the use of cookies at any time; which can be done through the Cookie banner settings on the Platform (the “Cookie Settings” button in the website footer) or by clearing the browser cache and opting out of consent on the next visit; the withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of data processing carried out prior to such withdrawal.
