Marine MAN operates in strict compliance with the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC 2006), Regulation 1.4, and adheres to the following fundamental principle:
“Seafarers shall not be charged, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, any fees or other charges for their recruitment or placement.”
This policy applies to all Marine MAN offices, representatives, and employees, regardless of location or working format.
1. Strict Prohibition of Charging Seafarers
Marine MAN provides its services to seafarers free of charge.
Such services include:
• registration and candidate profiling;
• evaluation of qualifications and job matching;
• arrangement of interviews with shipowners;
• coordination of the employment process until joining the vessel.
These services are provided regardless of the stage of recruitment or the outcome of employment.
The Company does not establish, charge, or permit the charging of any:
• commissions;
• service or administrative fees;
• payments for “expedited processing”;
• any direct or indirect charges.
Any request for payment is considered a violation of MLC 2006 and Marine MAN policy.
2. No Intermediaries
Marine MAN conducts recruitment directly, without the involvement of intermediaries.
The Company:
• does not authorize any third parties to request payments;
• does not cooperate with individuals offering paid services;
• does not recognize any form of representation involving the collection of money from seafarers.
Any person requesting payment on behalf of Marine MAN acts without authorization.
3. No Document Processing Services
Marine MAN does not act as an intermediary in obtaining seafarers’ documents and does not provide document processing services.
The Company does not arrange or coordinate:
• certificates and licenses (including STCW);
• seafarer passports or seaman’s books;
• medical certificates (including PEME);
• visas or work permits;
• representation before authorities or institutions.
All such procedures must be carried out by seafarers independently through authorized bodies.
Any offers of “assistance,” “facilitation,” or “expedited processing” of documents on behalf of Marine MAN are unauthorized and constitute a violation of Company policy.
4. Responsibility for Unofficial Dealings
Any interaction with third parties outside official channels, including the transfer of money or documents, is undertaken at the candidate’s own risk.
Marine MAN shall not be held liable for:
• actions of third parties;
• unofficial arrangements;
• transfer of funds outside Company policy.
5. Conclusion
Marine MAN confirms its commitment to:
• zero fees for seafarers;
• recruitment without intermediaries;
• compliance with MLC 2006;
• transparent and direct engagement.
Employment is based solely on professional qualifications and does not require any financial payments from seafarers.
6. Whistleblowing and Reporting
Marine MAN urges seafarers to remain vigilant.
If you are asked to make any payment — directly or indirectly, in whole or in part — or offered document processing services on behalf of the Company:
- Immediately cease communication with the individual requesting payment.
- Do not transfer money, documents, or personal data.
- Report the incident via the official channel: [email protected]
Any payment requests, including hidden or indirect charges, as well as any offers to arrange documents on behalf of Marine MAN, are unauthorized, violate MLC 2006, and are strictly against Company policy. All reports are treated confidentially.
