Drills The captain must ensure that drills are drilled for emergencies. The purpose of these drills: a) Improving awareness of the potential hazards faced by personnel and ships. b) Increase standard situations. and the speed of response to identified potential emergencies In January of each year, a schedule of exercises shall be issued for each vessel to be completed during the month for which they are scheduled. Form- – master vacancy tanker vessels – ANNUAL FRIEND’S PROGRAM If for any reason this is not possible, the Master makes an entry in the logbook of the deck indicating why the drilling is not completed. The order will be postponed as soon as possible after that. Plans for all identified emergency plan manuals potential emergencies must occur on each ship Each Plan includes at least: • Distribution of duties and responsibilities on board. • Actions to be taken to regain control of the situation. • Communication methods to be used on board and between ship and shore. • Procedure for seeking help from third parties, if required. • Procedure for notifying the Company and relevant bodies. • Checklists for monitoring and reporting. All completed drills must be recorded in the logbook. This record must include the personnel involved, the equipment used and details of any problems that are subject to, and signed by the master. The effectiveness of these exercises should be formally reviewed at on-board safety meetings. Any proposed improvements resulting from these reviews shall be submitted to the Company for approval as soon as possible and in any case from the next port.
