Unfortunately, nothing was found as per your request

What are they used for? gas carriers (VLGC)?

VLGC (Very Large Gas Carrier) is a vessel designed to transport liquefied petroleum gas (propane, butane and their mixtures), often referred to as LPG. Such ships are the most important link in the supply chain of fuel and chemical raw materials between countries, continents, and even industrial regions within the same country. Demand for VLGC consistently high, and work on board such vessels requires professionalism and offers attractive conditions for seafarers.

What are VLGC gas carriers?

VLGC is a specialized gas carrier up to 230–300 meters long with a carrying capacity of more than 75,000 cubic meters. These vessels serve global routes between liquefied gas exporting countries (for example, the USA, Qatar, UAE) and importing countries (Japan, South Korea, China, India, etc.).

Gas on board is transported in a liquefied state under pressure or at low temperature, in special tanks. The temperature can reach −48°C, and the pressure is maintained within strictly specified limits to avoid evaporation. VLGCs are often moored to specialized terminals where unloading is carried out quickly and safely.Basic tasks and functions of VLGC in the navy:

  1. Intercontinental LPG transportation - the vessel is capable of delivering up to 90,000 cubic meters of liquefied gas in one voyage.

  2. Transportation from liquefaction terminals to processing plants - most often routes from the Middle East or USA to Southeast Asia.

  3. Supply of industrial and municipal facilities - gas is used for energy production, heating, and also in the chemical industry.

  4. Maneuverability and autonomy - VLGCs are often equipped with re-liquefaction and regasification systems to monitor the condition of the cargo throughout the voyage.
