Chief Engineer Responsibilities & Technical KPI

Chief Engineer (C/E) is the head of the Engine Department responsible for vessel operational reliability, propulsion systems, machinery performance, and engine room safety.

Main Engine & Propulsion Systems

Operation and overhaul of MAN B&W ME-C / ME-GI, Wärtsilä X-DF, WinGD and auxiliary diesel generators.

High Voltage Operations (HV)

Management of vessel electrical systems and power plants operating on 6.6kV / 11kV High Voltage systems.

Environmental Compliance

Operation of EGCS scrubbers, BWMS systems, and reporting according to EEXI, CII, EU ETS and MARPOL Annex VI regulations.

Fuel & Bunkering Operations

Bunker planning, fuel quality control, Oil Record Book Part I management, separator systems and fuel treatment operations.

Planned Maintenance System (PMS)

Spare parts management, dry dock planning and maintenance scheduling through AMOS, NS5 and ShipManager PMS systems.

Engine Room Crew Management

Management of 2/E, 3/E, 4/E, ETO, Motorman, Oiler and Wiper positions.
